Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus facelifts coming by 2026 Both models will get a number of cosmetic and feature updates; no mechanical changes expected. Volkswagen India’s mainstream models, the Taigun SUV and the Virtus midsize sedans, are due to receive a major facelift. The global debut of these updated models is still a year away, and sources tell us that they will go on sale by late 2025 or early 2026. Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus facelifts: what to expect The Taigun SUV and Virtus sedan have been around since 2021 and 2022, respectively, and the German brand has been trying to keep them fresh by introducing multiple special editions and variants. Netflix's new sci-fi with Stranger Things star has something for all the family

Image
The Electric State, starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, is coming to Netflix in March 2025. If you're a Stranger Things fan then Millie Bobby Brown will be no stranger to your screens – and the young star seems firmly rooted to Netflix, with recent flick Damsel streaming from earlier this year, ahead of another major sci-fi that's set for a Spring 2025 launch. Directed by The Russo Brothers, The Electric State looks like a family-friendly sci-fi romp. It's adapted from a graphic novel of the same name by Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag, whose 2018 release has been adapted, Hollywood-style, to convincing effect. It's a movie set in a distopian future, where a revolution against robots has created an anarchistic society, one where a young teenager (Bobby Brown) believes she's lost her family – except there's some hope, as her brother is apparently still alive. Cue the tale of tracking him down, accepting the help of humans and robots alike in h

Cats and dogs have long been cherished as some of the most popular pets worldwide, admired for their companionship, loyalty, and distinct personalities. These creatures continue to improve the lives of families all around the world, whether it's because of the independent appeal of cats or the devoted character of dogs. Arnold Palmer was “appalled” by Trump, his daughter Peg said (in 2020)

Arnold Palmer was “appalled” by Trump, his daughter Peg said (in 2020): “My dad didn’t like people who act like they’re better than other people. He had no patience for people who are dishonest and cheat. My dad was disciplined. He wanted to be a good role model. He was appalled by Trump’s lack of civility and what he began to see as Trump’s lack of character. One moment stood out in her mind from the 2016 campaign, when Mr. Palmer saw Mr. Trump on television: “My dad made a sound of disgust — like ‘uck’ or ‘ugg’ — like he couldn’t believe the arrogance and crudeness of this man who was the nominee of the political party that he believed in,” she recalled. “Then he said, ‘He’s not as smart as we thought he was.’” Source https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/04/us/elections/after-furor-over-golf-remarks-trump-tweets-an-old-ad-of-him-and-arnold-palmer-joking-about-putting.html

The cost to women of the overlooked rise of Kenya’s manosphere

‘The hostility was something I’d never experienced before’: The cost to women of the overlooked rise of Kenya’s manosphere “I’m an alpha male, you can’t speak to me like this. I need to be treated like a king.”    Njeri wa Migwi recounts a story one of her clients had told her, describing to CNN how a once-caring husband suddenly began demeaning his wife and putting her down; saying things he never used to say.  As the co-founder and executive director of Usikimye, a non-profit in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi that works with women – and some men – who are experiencing sexual and gender-based violence at home, Migwi said that the woman “couldn’t put her finger on what was changing” in her relationship with her husband at first, but soon thought she figured it out. The man had for months been consuming content by Kenya’s most prominent “masculinity influencers,” who lead Kenya’s arm of the more global “manosphere” — where content is put out across websites, blogs and social media accoun

Matthew, who spoke on condition that his last name be withheld, during an exclusive tour of Changi Prison provided by Singapore authorities as they defended the city-state’s uncompromising position on drugs. In recent years, dozens of US states and countries ranging from Canada to Portugal have decriminalized marijuana. Matthew is serving a 7-year prison sentence in Singapore's Changi Prison for trafficking meth. But Singapore imposes a mandatory death penalty for people convicted of supplying certain amounts of illicit drugs – 15 grams (half an ounce) of heroin, 30 grams of cocaine, 250 grams of methamphetamine and 500 grams of cannabis. A 64-year-old man was hanged for drug offenses this week – the fourth person to be hanged so far this year. The harsh sentencing puts the wealthy city-state in a small club of countries that includes Iran, North Korea and Saudi Arabia, which execute criminals convicted of drug offenses.
